This sailing vessel AMAZONE is a 42 metre 138 (ft) large steel ship which was built by Laan & Kooy on 1963.
Olivier van Meer was the architect on conversion from fishing vessel to the 42m (incl. bowsprit) schooner AMAZONE in 1992. Based on the hull of a fishing cutter, this vessel undergone a radical conversion that has given it a special character among the sailing charter boats available in the Netherlands. Her lovely sheer, balanced clipper bow, beautifully shaped deck saloon, well raked masts, optimal sailing performance and excellent finishing typify the work of the OVM office.
Sleeping 23 passengers and 2 qualified crew, sailing yacht AMAZONE used to be North Sea fishing cutter "Meyert Menno" until 1993. She could be described as a classic twin masted schooner.

Built in 1963 in Den Oever, the Netherlands, she proofed her seaworthiness during the time she was used as a North sea fishing cutter. In 1993...-85 refitted into a luxorious charter sailing vessel according to Oliver van Meer design.
All tanks are seperate, so not integrated in the hull. Sails have been checked yearly.
The owner is unaware of any concealed defects which obstruct the normal use of the ship.
