When she was introduced back in 1966, the 47 Flush Deck was the largest yacht in Chris Craft's rapidly evolving all fiberglass fleet. The heavily built hull of the 47 is overkill by today's lightweight standards, and all of the deck hardware was custom-crafted at the old Chris Craft plant in Algonac, Michigan. A comfortable cruising yacht, her three stateroom interior was arranged with the built-in dinette a step down from the salon. Note that the forward head is in the bow section. Also, there are twin single berths in the aft stateroom. The seakeeping and handling characteristics of this boat are exceptional. Twin 8V53 Detroit diesels cruise at a sedate 12-13 knots.
The owner has spared no expense in the maintenance and updates on this fine Classic yacht. Modern Garmin 7212 Radar and chart plotter. Remodeled kitchen, counters tops, appliances, Water fixtures through out the boat, Vacu flush heads, newer soft goods. This boat shows much younger than its age with its original gel coat shining and teak trim showing like new.
If you are in the market for a classic styled yacht but do not want all of the work of a classic, you need to take a look at Adventurer today.
The aft deck features an expansive out door entertaining space while at the same connecting to the helm station, keeping the captain and guests together for an enjoyable day on the water. The hard top on this particular Commander extends to the transom keeping the entire aft deck nicely shaded and protected from the elements. Dual Helm seats along with the original built in mahogany reverse bench seat and custom teak furniture provide ample space for captain and guests to relax and enjoy the ride.
At the helm you will find the original gauges, toggle switches and shift controls put on the boat from the factory keeping with the original character and class of this yacht. To keep you and your guest safe the owner has installed modern dual Garmin 7212 screens to provide for your chart plotter and open array Garmin Radar.
At your finger tips you also have controls for the hard top mounted spot light and anchor windlass
Also note the placement of the helm on this vessel allows a nearly unobstructed 360 degree view of not only your surroundings but as well the transom corners, bow and side decks. Making navigating and docking much simpler.
Coming down three steps from the helm you will find your self in the salon. The first item you might notice is the high gloss mahogany floor the owner had redone in his process of updating Adventurer. This beautiful piece of wood work has no scratches, no scraps and no dings. Further showing the effort and time the owner has put into this fine yacht. A large modern free standing sofa is located to port. Along the Starboard salon you have built in storage along with ample space for multiple chairs of your choice.
Moving forward into the galley the corian counter tops immediately grab your attention with their modern clean simple appearance blending with the classic mahogany interior cabinetry. To keep extended cruises on board comfortable a modern Norcold refrigerator and Princess 3 burner stove with oven and large stainless sink were added as part of the owners updates. These new appliances and large counter space really make preparing any meal a real pleasure on board. To the starboard side of the galley is a very comfortably sized dinette for two couples to enjoy dinner or simply put out appetizers.
Forward stateroom and head:
The forward stateroom has two single berths along with a tremendous amount of storage space. Twelve sliding drawers and one hanging locker to be exact. The forward head is located directly in the bow which provides more interior volume than what you typically find in most. Using the large amount of flair in the bow gives the forward head its feel of openness. Again you will also find upgraded corian counter top, stainless sink, water fixtures and Vacu flush head.
Aft staterooms and Master head:
In the aft of the boat you will find two more staterooms. The first of which has two over under berths along with a large four drawer dresser and hanging locker.
Across the hall is the master head. A large enclosed shower with a Rain Spa dual head faucet making showers on board feel more like home. A Vacu flush head and corian counter top round out another comfortably sized room.
The third and final stateroom measuring the full width of the yacht consists of one single and one double size berths. Three hanging lockers and a four drawer vanity provide ample space for clothing and storage. There are also four large opening ports that provide plenty of natural light and ventilation.
I dare you to find a cleaner engine room of this vintage or a cleaner pair of 8V53 Detroit diesels. The owners obsession with the care of this yacht clearly extends to the engine room as well. The Detroit Diesels and Kohler 12.5 KW Generator lack the corrosion and wear you would expect to find on yachts several decades newer. Dual 900 Racor fuel filters with a selector valve and vacum gauge for each engine means only good clean fuel will be reaching the engines. The Kohler generator has its own 900 Racor Fuel filter as well.
