SERIOUS OFFERS INVITED
Lifestyle changes and a grown-up family mean little use of this superb 1968 Fairey Swordsman 33 - rare Aft Cockpit model by the owner who has lovingly cherished this boat for 25 years.
Fairey Owners Club Concours d'Elegance winner in 2014.
Carefully restored by a Fairey Marine marque specialist the new owner will benefit from extensive renovation work including:
Twin 210 HP Cummins Turbo diesel engines with only about 500 hours each; handed propellers. Recent service work for the new season includes 4 new batteries and a changeover switch between the two banks of batteries.
In 2013 the work included:
Back to bare wood paint with new screens and windows
New varnish and Coelan finish
Coach roof and cabin sides epoxy sheathed and Awlgrip spray painted
Top-sides repainted.
In 2011 the major re-fit included but was not limited to:
New marine ply sub-deck and epoxy sheathed
Hull below water line stripped to bare wood and then epoxy sheathed
Reinforced oversize keelson and new engine bearers
New teak deck
New hardwood window surrounds and tinted acrylic windows
New drainage matrix to cockpit sole
New electric windlass
New cleats, deck fittings and re-chromed Sampson post
New stainless steel water tank
Fuel tanks taken out and steam-cleaned
Bilge cleaned and re-painted
New: upholstery; carpet; interior vinyl to deck-head and cabin sides
New digital TV and iPod-ready four speaker sound system.
This is a ready-to-use Swordsman 33 that was top of the range when commissioned with extra reinforcing in the hull learnt from race practice. Since the boat was not raced we consider Miss Emma Jane has strength in reserve.

The Fairey Owners' Club
Although Fairey boats were built in the '50s until the early '80s, it was not until 1986 that the Fairey Owners Club was founded. Their basic idea, which remains the principal objective of the club, is to preserve the marque.
In its present form the Club organises rallies and events throughout the year, at which there is an easy exchange of information. It also has extensive archive information, which is constantly being added to.
Membership is currently more than 200 and is growing steadily. Although a large percentage of members are based on the South Coast of Britain, there are many in other parts of the UK, including Northern Ireland. There are also members as far afield as Holland, Corfu, Norway and the Maldives.
