CAVU is a classic ketch rigged cruising boat that is capable of offshore as well as coastal cruising. The Dickerson tradition is summarized in Ferenc Mate's book THE WORLDS BEST SAILBOATS. One step aboard and it is obvious that she had had very good care all of her years. She is traditional and has a full keel underbody but she also has modern conveniences like dual air conditioners and 12" chart plotter. She has a full cockpit enclosure and electric autopilot as well as a Monitor windvane. There is more stowage space in this boat than any other sailboat I have ever been aboard. She is truly designed to cruise in the real world.
She has solar panels and extra tankage and an upgraded electrical system. CAVU is well maintained and ready to cruise.

First let me say that this boat has more stowage space than any other cruising boat that I have ever seen. Under the bunks, outboard of the seat backs and above and outboard there is plenty of light easy to access stowage. The hanging lockers are large and there are 13 drawers to store gear. That is unheard of in more modern boats.
There is a very spacious V berth in the forward cabin and a hanging locker and drawers for personal storage.
There is a head with shower and teak grate aft of the forward cabin to starboard.
The headroom throughout the boat is 6'5" except in the walk thru to the aft cabin.
The main saloon is traditional with all wood construction. Many of the surfaces are painted white to keep the interior light and the main bulkhead is Bruynzeel Mahogany. There is stowage outboard of the settees and under the seats as well. The galley is to starboard and there is a nice big chart table to port.
The settees in the main saloon are 6'6" long and wide enough to really sleep on.
The walk thru has abundant stowage and access to a clean straight forward engine room. CAVU was repowered in 2008 with a Volvo diesel that was rebuilt and has about 660 hours since rebuild.
The aft cabin has an athwartships aft berth and abundant stowage. There is a private head just forward and to starboard in the aft cabin. That head is a composting low maintenance head.
There are two air conditioning units to heat and cool CAVU. One is 16,000 BTUs and one 9,000.
