The S2 was built to the high end of the production market, with more emphasis on structural quality than the average production boat receives. Bulkheads and the wood furniture are glassed to the hull, which is superior to the pan method used on most production boats. The deck is attached to the hull with a flexible adhesive and is through bolted every 6 inches.
In addition to her sturdy build, the S2 is very well laid out with excellent accommodations. The aft cockpit S2 36 is well suited for crossing oceans, and yet she is fast, easy to handle and comfortable to live on.
A large quarter berth is just aft and to starboard of the companionway. Forward of the quarter berth is the forward-facing nav station. The U-Shaped galley is to port. There is excellent storage in an overhead cabinet that is between the galley and salon.
The salon has a large U-shaped seating area to port with dining table in center. The dining table can be lowered to create a large double berth.
To starboard is a long, straight settee which doubles as an excellent sea berth. There are shelves behind both settees and superb access to the chainplates
The head is forward and to port of the salon. The head has a manual Raritan PHII commode, shower, sink and cabinets.
Hanging lockers and shelves are to starboard of head compartment.
The forward cabin has a V-berth with storage under.
Cabinets throughout vessel have wicker doors for ventilation and there is marine air conditioning throughout.
Cushions and covers are in good condition.
