Very well cared for Cape Dory 28, Sensibility has had only two owners. The current owners purchased her in the early 90's and have sailed her on the Coast of Maine each summer. She is equipped with minimal electronics, roller furling jib and Trinka Sailing Dinghy. Her Teak Trim is professionally varnished each year, and her hull shines.
A very nice example of this well known pocket cruiser.
PRICE JUST REDUCED TO $12,500 AS THE OWNERS WANT THIS VESSEL SOLD.
The cabin of Sensibility is nicely finished in teak with a teak and holly cabin sole. All cushions were renewed in 2000 with attractive green fabric.
There are v-berths in the forward cabin with storage lockers below. A large Bomar hatch is above, and two opening ports provide great ventilation to the cabin.
Next aft is the head area which extends across the cabin with both doors closed. A vanity sink is to starboard, with a foot operated manual water pump. A cabinet is above which has louvered teak doors. A marine toilet is to port, and this is pumped to a large holding tank and has a "Y" valve for direct overboard discharging. A hanging locker is outboard of the toilet. Opening ports on each side, and a dorade vent provide the ventilation.
The main cabin has settee / berths port and starboard. The port berth can slide inboard, allowing it to form a double berth. There are shelves and lockers outboard of each berth, and the backrest cushions form the filler for the double berth. The dining table hinges down from the port bulkhead, and has a leaf allowing each berth to serve as seating. A beautiful clock and barometer set is mounted on the port bulkhead . On the starboard bulkhead is mounted an oil lamp and a chart. 4 opening ports are in the main cabin and galley areas. A lexan skylight above provides an additional airy feel to the cabin.
The galley is aft, by the companionway. To Port is an Origo 2 burner alcohol stove, with a large storage locker underneath. A stainless steel sink with a manual water pump is in the aft counter, and a large Ice box is to starboard. Shelves outboard of the counters hold dishes, cookware and stores.
Engine access is available by removing the companionway stairs, and by way of the cockpit lockers.
