"JUNO" is one of the most well-kept Pearson 424s, now located at her birthplace, Bristol, Rhode Island. This Pearson 424 ketch is owned by a Swedish couple who has given her a light, airy and more modern Scandinavian touch.
"JUNO" has been constantly upgraded over the years. The original Westerbeke engine was replaced by a Perkins Prima in 1991 and was just completely overhauled in 2016. The underwater body had an anti-osmosis treatment (epoxy barrier coat) in 1994. The past 8 years the vessel has only been in the water for 5-7 weeks per season and before that was out of commission from 2006.

The Pearson 424 is a classic Bill Shaw cruising design featuring solid construction, good sailing performance, shoal draft with skeg-hung rudder, a versatile ketch rig, and comfortable cruising accommodations. With her three bladed feathering Autoprop she easily makes 7-8 knots under engine or sail alike, in an average 10-15 knots wind, and she will often average 8 knots and more in 20 knots of wind. Apart from the ordinary main, mizzen and genoa, there is an extensive wardrobe of downwind sails, making her rewarding and fun on all points of sailing.
Juno is easily handled by a couple and would happily take you to the islands, sailing in Maine, New England, the Inland Waterways or down to the Caribbean. She features two private staterooms, both with new custom mattresses, a lovely cruising galley with ample counter space & storage, a main cabin with room for 6 people in comfort, and an exceptionally comfortable cockpit that can accommodate a large family or many guests at anchor.
Her interior is bright, with complete new upholstery in exquisite Sunbrella fabric, light sand colour and turquoise piping. The galley has had an extensive rebuild with new custom made fridge and freezer, with clean stainless steel lining, new custom built cabinets and lockers. The old deck hatches have been replaced with new Lewmar hatches, giving a bright, sunny atmosphere to the interior.
