Designed by Alan Payne, Australian America's Cup designer, the Hughes Columbia 8.7 has excellent performance in heavy weather. She has a traditional "wineglass" transom that pulls the quarter wave aft and makes for a fine trailing edge at all angles of heel. With her keel configuration and hull design, you will find comfort, stiffness, stability and safety. Below there is an abundance of space.

DUET has had a number of recent upgrades that make her even more attractive. Some of these are:

- New canvas in 2010

- New electronics in 2008

- New interior upholstery in 2008

- XM Satellite Radio in 2009

She also comes with a dinghy motor lift, wheel steering, and built-in propane cabin heater. She is a very well-kept and attractive offering for those looking for a turnkey introduction to the cruising life.
