Andante has a powerful sailing hull with full displacement and is built for comfort and safety. She can be handled by one or two experienced sailors or accommodate a group of six for longer excursions. With a center cockpit layout and teak brightwork throughout the interior, Andante maintains the warmth and feeling of old-world sailing ships while still providing modern conveniences.
The traditional beauty of this yacht, with her clipper bow and protected bow-sprit, classic rounded stern with aft windows and beautiful carved wooden railings, will attract the eyes of admirers wherever she sails. The current owners have owned and enjoyed cruising on Andante since 2006; however this classic beauty has been in their family since the early nineties.

This Vagabond 47 has teak joinery work throughout the comfortable living accommodations. There are two private staterooms. The huge owner’s cabin is aft with a centerline queen berth, lots of storage and a private head with shower and tub. The guest cabin is forward with a V-berth configuration, more storage and its own private head with a separate shower.
The salon area is enormous with separate areas for lounging and dining as well as a nav station. The galley is huge and is a true “walk-through” galley with lots of counter space on both sides as well as abundant storage.
Three opening hatches, twenty-one opening ports, four dorade vents and headroom exceeding seven feet in some areas ensure that you will never feel confined in this well laid-out interior. In addition to being able to open the ports and hatches to “catch” the sea breezes and let in natural light, Andante is equipped with air conditioning to keep you comfortable in those warm, tropical climates. Her storage space is simply amazing. You will find cabinets, lockers, shelving and under deck storage areas throughout the interior.
The galley is situated on the port side of the vessel with plenty of storage areas and work space.
Andante has an extremely able, sea-kindly hull with a gentle motion at sea. With 12,000 lbs. of ballast and 40,000 lbs. of displacement, she has a 30% displacement/ballast ratio and will sail or power smoothly and easily in any weather. On deck you will find acres of walk-a-round space including a large, comfortable center cockpit, extra wide side decks and a spacious fore deck.
The Vagabond 47 is an ideal size for distance cruising. The brochure says, “She is a real ship, of twenty tons displacement, able to stow an immense supply of stores, fuel and water without appearing half sunk and with breadth and deck space for comfort and minimum angle of heel on passage…Vagabond really sails…stays on her feet and is easy on her people in all weather…A favorable sail area to wetted surface ratio assures good light air performance. Her shallow draft allows her to cruise the Bahamas and many other shallow passes.”
