Arranged as a fishing machine with a large aft cockpit and easy walk around side decks the Sailfish is a capable fisherman in all weather and a comfortable day boat or overnighter.
The cabin has a V-berth forward with table that converts to a double berth for sleeping. The galley is to port with icebox, sink, single burner stove and various storage for utensils, dishes and pantry items.
Opposite the galley to starboard is an enclosed head with manual marine toilet, sink, vanity and integral shower system.
Aft is a double berth under the helm station. Up a few steps to the helm area which includes helm and companion pedestal seats with storage lockers and drawers under. The helm area is under a half-tower style hardtop and enclosed with canvas.
The cockpit and side decks allow for easy maneuvering for fishing or line handling. The cockpit area is enhanced by having the engines mounted on a bracket system that is mounted on the transom.
The difference between the 272 Grady White, which followed the 255, is the engine mounting system became integral to the hull and extended the length; otherwise the boats are quite similar.
The cabin and helm areas are heated by a diesel fired Espar forced air furnace system.
12 VDC ship service electrical system with vapour proof master switches, master breakers and tabulated and fused distribution panels.
2 X 27 series batteries for engine starting and house service.
30 Amp X 120 VAC electrical system with 30' cord, inlet fitting, master breaker, reverse polarity light and outlets throughout boat.
