This Rival 36 is an excellent example of the Scheel keel version. Was launched in July 1999, used for 5 years on the East Coast, then to France where she has stayed in Carentan, Northern France to this present day. One owner from new and in immaculate condition. This Rival 36 offers 6 berths in 2 cabins with maximum headroom of 6ft 3inches. Beautiful teak interior joinery Upholstery in ‘as new’ condition finished in dark green velour. The galley is equipped with double sink, Isotherm refrigeration system, gas 3 burner hob, oven & grill – Force 10. Double access to heads compartment with marine toilet and wash basin and plenty of storage. The Rival 36 is also equipped with a holding tank. Water heated throughout via the engine calorifer with a freshwater capacity of 70 gallons. Carpeted and curtains throughout. Cutlery and crockery included.
The Rival 36 is sloop rigged with deck stepped 1999 Kemp aluminium mast and boom, with a Kemp gas kicker. Stainless steel standing rigging and Terylene running rigging 1999. Slab reefing mainsail with Lazyjacks. Furling headsail by Shaffer.
The Rival 36 is powered by Perkins Perana 30hp 1999 three cylinder diesel engine, giving a cruising speed of approximately 6 knots, shaft drive to a fixed 3 bladed propeller. Plastic fuel tank with a capacity of 50 gallons, giving a range of approximately 750nm. Serviced annually
3 x 12 volt batteries, 1 x 165 ah, 2 x 80 ah, charging from the engine alternator, and 240 volt battery charger. 240 volt ring main also installed. (New batteries will be required)
The Rival 36 was the sixth and last Rival designed by Peter Brett and comes in three basic versions; Deep draft, Scheel keel and Centre board. 78 Rival 36s were built, the first being launched in 1980. This version is Scheel lead keel with wheel steering and skeg rudder. Owned from new by the current owners.
