Tatanka is the ultimate performance cruiser. She is fast, stiff, well balanced, and comfortable in all conditions. The Pedrick designs are thoroughly modern in hull form and way ahead of their time in sailing and living accommodation features. The signature Pedrick designed "whale tail" keel and rudder provide excellent lift and a very responsive helm. Tatanka is well set up with large fully-battened mainsail (2012) with lazy jacks and also has the optional, self-tacking roller furling jib completes the sail inventory. Sailing equipment includes Garman color GPS/Chartplotter at the helm as well Furuno Radar, Autohelm linear drive autopilot, with B&G and RayMarine sailing instruments. Other gear includes an electric halyard winch and electric anchor windlass.

This layout sleeps 6 comfortably in two private staterooms and main salon settee berths. Headroom is 6'4". The forward cabin has a large double V-berth with cabinets and a private head! Aft in the main salon is a wrap-around settee to port that converts to a double. There is a straight settee to stbd and a swiveling seat back for the sit-down nav station. A two-leaf bulkhead dinette hi-low table folds out to sit 6 for dinner. The U-shaped galley is open to the main salon and well designed for cooking at sea. The galley includes ample counter space, white Corian counters, lots of storage, double basin stainless sink, top and front load Adler Barbour refrigerator/freezer. There is a three burner Force 10 propane stove with oven and broiler. The galley is conveniently located adjacent to the companionway. To starboard is the spacious head with toilet and a separate stall shower with acrylic door. . Aft of the galley is a large double, private stateroom with plush mattress and upholstered headboard.
The interior is gorgeous with varnished cherry bulkheads and trim and a varnished teak and holly sole which provide a warm and inviting space. The cherry has taken a lovely red patina. Lockers and storage are in abundance. The interior is very bright and airy with 14 opening stainless steel portlights, 5 opening deck hatches, 2 chrome dorade vents integral to the sea hood, and two skylights.

Electrical: Three large 4-D AGM batteries in two banks with dual battery selector switches for optimum isolation between banks. Monitor battery condition on DC amp and volt meters on custom electrical panel. Charging is through a Statpower Truecharge 40 amp multi-stage battery charger and and a 100 amp high output Balmar engine alternator with smart regulator. Lighting is provided with numerous reading, overhead, and indirect strip lights for a warm and inviting ambiance. 30amp 120vAC shore power system with 50' cord. An electric anchor windlass and electric halyard winch ease anchoring and sail handling.
Mechanical: Yanmar engine is in excellent condition and located amidships in a well insulated engine box with great access. PSS dripless friction shaft seal, Racor fuel filter. Single lever engine control at helm. A three blade feathering Max prop is installed for minimum drag.
Plumbing: Hot and cold pressure water to heads, shower, galley and cockpit shower. TWO HEAD layout! A Seaward 11 gal stainless hot water tank (new 2011) is heated by 110vAC element and engine.

Tatanka has a beautiful white hull with double blue boot stripes, The hull bottom is maintained annually. A solid fiberglass rub rail with stainless half round striker lengthen the line and compliment her graceful sheer. The wing keel and balanced spade rudder with carbon fiber post have the signature Pedrick "whale-tail" design and deliver finger tip control and quick responsiveness at the helm. This boat is fast: a wolf in sheep's clothing. With her wide beam and high ballast lead keel she is very stiff. The hull is hand laid stitch glass with vinylester resin for blister protection and end-grain balsa for stiffness without excess weight. The balsa core also provides thermal and acoustic insulation for a more temperate and drier and quieter interior.
Wide side decks and a large T-shaped cockpit with walk-through transom and straight access to the companionway make movement around this boat easy and comfortable. Ample seating for a crowd. A two-leaf fiberglass cockpit table folds up to dine six or down out of the way to be a leaning post when healed over. Bow and stern rails are joined by double lifelines set higher than normal for added safety with gates to port and stbd. Deep cockpit lockers aft and to stbd in the cockpit provide ample storage for fenders, dock lines and other gear.

A Haarstick fully-battened mainsail was new in 2012. The self-tacking working jib is also roller furling with a track on deck forward of the mast. This boat is ideal for performance, short-handed cruising. The stbd Harken # 48 self tailing two speed winch is electric and all sail control functions are lead simply to it.
