The Jaguar 24 was designed as a small family cruiser which also sailed well. With 5ft 9in headroom and open plan interior she feels quite spacious for a boat of this size. Having come to the lake from the coast she is well equipped and presented in good order. Only 2 owners from new. She comes with an Avon inflatable tender and a steered yard trolley for winter storage.
This boat is on a swinging mooring at the South end of Windermere. Please contact Maiden Marine to arrange a viewing.
GRP construction with enough strength that the internal bulkheads could be dispensed with leaving an open plan saloon with table mounted on compression post. Good sized cockpit has the outboard mounted in a central well with cover / seat over. There is a cavernous locker under port cockpit seat and a dedicated gas locker alongside it. A set of cockpit cushions add to your comfort.
Stainless steel pull-pit and push-pit linked by a single guard wire provide security when moving forward alongside the teak handrails and non slip moulded deck. Outboard mount on push-pit along with horseshoe life buoy.
Bilge keels allow exploration of shallower areas of the lake or coastline and for use in areas with drying moorings.
The boat is powered by a 2006 Mercury 4hp outboard with remote tank mounted in a central well in the cockpit. This was last serviced in September 2015.
A single 12 volt battery provides power for lighting and instruments. It is charged via the engine or a battery charger. There is a shore power connection.
Fractional rig with alloy mast and spars and stainless steel rigging. The sails are the originals from 1996 but are said to be in good condition. There is a slab reefing mainsail with lazy-jacks and a blue sail cover for protection and a furling genoa with UV strip.
The Jaguar 24 manages to provide surprisingly comfortable accommodation for up to 4 people in a 24 foot boat. There is 5' 9'' headroom at the galley diminishing as you head forward. To port of the removable companionway steps is the heads compartment with a chemical toilet (sea toilet has been removed) and wash basin and storage. Behind the steps is a double berth extending under the cockpit sole and starboard seat.
To starboard is the linear galley unit with cool box, two burner gas hob and grill, stainless steel sink with manually pumped cold water and storage.
The saloon table pivots around the compression post allowing it to be swung to one side to act as a chart table or to give more standing room at the galley.
A V-berth in the bow provides the second double berth. There is a variety of locker space under the saloon seats and the V-berth.
