The hull is a robust hand-laid solid fiberglass built to CE Offshore A category standards which includes a vinylester barrier coat to resist osmotic blistering. The hull is supported by Beneteau’s proven grid system: A bonded fiberglass hull liner that stiffens the hull and spreads loads from the rig throughout the boat. The deck is a cored sandwich construction to keep weight down, although a solid laminate is used to support high- load areas. The bulkheads are bonded 360 degrees to hull and deck. Over the years Beneteaus have logged millions of sea miles, the ultimate testament to sound construction.
Decks are of cored sandwich construction for stiffness, thermal and acoustic insulation, and lighter weight. Solid fiberglass reinforcements are located in high load and hardware mounting locations. Unidirectional roving reinforced deck beams integral to the deck liner lamination are bonded to the deck for added strength, and all bulkheads are bonded 360 to the hull and deck for structural strength.
The bottom line is that this 423 is a Big, Strong, and Fast Boat!
Below Decks, this Beneteau 423 presents an incredible detail to quality woodwork and live aboard comfort. The beautiful, warm, and luxuriously finished Duka Mahogany Wood interior is very spacious, well lighted, highly appointed and includes hardwood fiddles, door frames and trim pieces with custom marine grade, zero void, multi laminate wood faces and bulkheads and finish coated Teak Floor Boards. The Salon features a handsome matching wood book rack that is mounted below a polished brass Weems & Plath Clock and Barometer set.
The salon configuration focuses on a C-shaped dinette on the starboard side which can be converted to a double berth. A centerline bench seat is located port of the dinette with a stowage area under the seat, which can also be used as a foot rest for the port settee.
The L-shaped Galley is a cruising chef’s dream flowing from the Salon and is tucked to starboard and aft of the companionway. The front loading refrigerator and top loading freezer are located aft with a large area of counter space for food preparation. The cabinet storage is plentiful and easily accessible via louvered cabinet doors.
Across from the galley to port is the aft Head, which may be accessed from the Salon as well as from the Aft Cabin. The Aft Cabin has a large Double Berth, enclosed hanging locker, and lots of storage.
Forward of the Aft Head is a forward facing Nav Station with stowage under an ergonomically designed seat. The Nav Station features panel mounted SSB and VHF radios, Raymarine Multi Data Display, NMEA and AIS laptop computer connections and a battery state of charge monitor.
The Forward Cabin is light and well ventilated with a large hanging locker, and stowage under a dressing bench seat located to port as you enter. A second dressing bench seat with underneath stowage is located to starboard. The Queen Berth located forward can be accessed from either side, and has stowage beneath; some of which can be accessed from drawers at the foot of the bunk. A Large Head is entered via a starboard doorway and includes a folding door separated shower.
All Salon, Cabin, Galley, and Head Electrical lighting fixtures are equipped with energy saving LED bulbs.
