ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
This unique boat was built strong as a tank and light as a feather, making it one of the fastest ocean cruising catamarans of its size in the market.
Kevlar and carbon fiber upgrades, built in during construction, added strength and flexibility to an already excellent design by Schionning.
MILOCURA was built using the Cosmos 13.2 meter design stretched to 13.5 and the pontoons widened by 10 cm, all with Schionnings approval.
The boat was designed and built for 20+ knots (original plans and drawings available for potential buyers) and has done that speed many times, even when loaded for very extended cruising from Western Australia to the Caribbean, via the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
The boat, fitted with simple to operate dagger boards, is easy to handle, extremely responsive, agile, fast, dry and safe, sails very well to the wind, thanks to the efficient boards. All in all a boat for the serious cruising sailor that wants the space and comfort but that does not want to sacrifice performance. The boat has had only one owner and has never been chartered.
Three double cabins provide space for six people sleeping comfortably.
One large shower stall and adjacent ablution facility, with electric TMC toilet. (the ablution facility and the shower are separated by a door)
The panoramic view from the salon and galley is perfect for those that want to feel “on the water”.
Mesh shades over the windows provide privacy while at anchor or in marinas.
The panoramic view is also a key for rough weather sailing, providing a safe and dry area from where to command the boat from.
All floors inside the boat are layered with Australian Victoria Ash wood with Mahogany trims.
All cabin and cabinet doors are trimmed with Mahogany.
The cockpit roof is self standing, doing away with structural columns in other boats of same size, it is all built with extensive carbon fiber reinforcements allowing two people to stand on top of the cockpit roof at the same time to work, on sails or just wash the boat.
She has a galley up layout, with the galley at the same level as the saloon, providing for a more social atmosphere. This is the only galley up Schionning in the market.

This vessel was built using the hand laid strip planking method, with END GRAIN BALSA as the core material.
Kevlar and carbon fiber were extensively used as reinforcing material, in many cases as replacement for heavier and less strong fiberglass as in the design.
Two extra Kevlar layers were also used as extra protection along 10 meters x 30 cm of the length of each hull bottom.
This boat also features a large dive platform with plenty of space for a variety of activities.
