One owner vessel with low hours
M/V Happy Days is a fine example of a 2003 Selene 47, she has been lovingly maintained by her original owner. As the flagship of the smaller Selene’s, the Selene 47 boasts a level of luxury normally only found on its larger sisters in the Selene range, but in a more affordable package that is easy for couple to handle. The 47’s interior has been thoughtfully designed to maximize livability and comfort with two staterooms and two heads with stall showers. Incorporated in the interior plan is a large pilothouse with a watch berth behind the pilot seats, a spacious salon and galley that includes a finished commissary lazarette with a built in Grunert Cold Plate Freezer to store provisions on extended passages. The interior is elegantly appointed in leather upholstery, polished white Corian counter surfaces, and finely finished teak cabinetry with maple burl and ebony inlays throughout. On deck, you will enjoy the spacious cockpit and the security of the Portuguese bridge with full walk-around covered side decks. When you add it all up; the Selene 47 Ocean Trawler is simply the dream of the serious cruiser.
The Selene 47 is CE certified by Lloyd's for "Class A Ocean Going" and sets the standard for a solidly built, sea-kindly, long-range passage maker. Her stability is exceptional with stats like a D/L ratio at full load of 325 and an A/B ratio at full load of 2.47. She also has a draft of 5' 8" and carries 4,000 lbs. of lead ballast in her keel and displaces over 66,000 lbs.
M/V Happy Days is well equipped with low hours and a "Bulbous Bow" option that increases fuel efficiency and range. The bulb was added by Delta Marine and is a torpedo shaped extension of the hull just below the waterline at the bow. The basic principal is to create a low pressure zone to eliminate the bow wave and reduce drag. Hulls built with bulbous bow sections are common today especially on long range vessels. This design is very effective at redirecting forces of hydrodynamic resistance and drag. The bulbous bow helps increase fuel efficiency and also reduces pitching in heavy seas providing a more stable ride.
M/V Happy Days has been thoughtfully equipped and exceptionally maintained by her knowledgeable owner. The main engine is a 330 horsepower Cummins 6BTA5.9 with only 2,397 original engine hours. M/V Happy Days equipment inventory is extensive and includes: SidePower Bow and Stern Thrusters, Webasto Forced Air Furnace, Westerbeke 8KW Generator (1,676 hrs.), Simrad Auto Pilot with Remote Control, Furuno Radar, Furuno Video Depth Sounder, Standard Horizon GPS Chart-plotter, Interphase – Probe Forward Scanning Sonar, Prosine 2.0 kW Inverter/Charger, Splendide Combomatic Washer/Dryer, 11' Sport Cat Tender with 25hp Mercury Outboard and many more.
