The Cookson 50 is a remarkably fast, high performance 50-foot racing yacht with acclaimed structural integrity and build quality. These yachts are capable of winning races and beating much larger boats over the line and on handicap in the toughest Ocean races in the world.
The Cookson 50 is easy to sail fast, surfing through the night in the Ocean with less crew thanks to its canting keel and electric hydraulic winches. If however you would prefer shorthanded harbour racing these same features keep the Cookson 50 ahead of her time allowing you to sail with just a few, faster than any other 50 footer with very little effort and without the need for 'weight on the rail'.
Where the Cookson 50 differs further from the rest of the Grand Prix market is her interior. This space is modern, light functional and comfortable with the ability to be a genuine overnight cruising yacht. Enjoy plush lounges, headroom, a full double bed forward with enclosed washroom, a large L shaped galley, dedicated chart table and more.
Victoire (Ex Jazz) is arguably the best performing Cookson 50 available in the world. She was world famous for winning races from the Caribbean to Europe and then on to Australia. Her current owners purchased the vessel in 2013 and have kept on winning with overall wins in the 2013 Sydney to Hobart and the Gosford to Lord Howe race along with many other offshore races on the Australian Coast.
Recently the navigation station has been upgraded. The rig was removed in November 2015 and the rigging was dye tested. All winches, rams and hydraulics and motors have been upgraded and maintained throughout 2015. There has never been any damage to the hulls or foils.
Victoire has been constantly updated with no expense spared and boasts and abundance of race sails, safety gear, electronics, extras and spares to get you out winning quickly at the highest level. Let's face it Victoire was ahead of the winning TP's in this year's Sydney to Hobart prior to retirement through injury.
