‘Vivacia’ was custom built for its present experienced yacht owner by Caliber Yachts Inc. in Clearwater Florida, and incorporates all the latest design experience of this quality blue water sailboat builder
What sets Caliber apart from the fleet of her rivals? Is it her swiftness? Her seaworthiness and durability? Her exceptional stability and comfort? As Caliber owners know, it is the artful combination of these qualities, which enables a Caliber to perform beyond the limits that constrain so many others.
This 2009 Caliber 40LRC SE meets all those expectations. The 40LRC SE has standard features like Water Tight Collision Bulkhead, Water-Tight Rudder Dam, Caliber Smart Electrical System, Caliber Smart Fuel System, Convertible Cutter Rig and much more.
With her large capacity fuel and water tanks, ‘Vivacia’ is set up for long distance sailing and live-aboard, with custom tilting solar panels with individual regulators. Tanks are monitored with a pneumatic sensor Tank Tender System. She is fitted with a large ‘fridge/freezer, propane stove and a lot of storage space. She has two double berths, two heads, each with hot/cold pressure shower facilities, a large comfortable salon with a capacious extending dining table, and a chart table and seat at the electrical panel.
‘Vivacia’ is now for sale, and is located in the “Gateway to the Sea of Cortez” and would greatly benefit that sailor looking for an ocean capable vessel ready to go. This is a great starting point to explore the Sea of Cortez, South Pacific, Central America or Caribbean.

Vivacia has truly comfortable and spacious accommodations for her size. She has been customized by the current and original owners. Vivacia has plenty of lighting, reading and overhead lights, 7 cooling fans, and AC electrical outlets. She is finished throughout in teak with solid capping. She is also naturally well-lit and well ventilated through the numerous port lights and hatches. There is a bbeautiful teak and holly floor throughout, with multiple handrails though out the interior.
In terms of accommodations, no boat of comparable size comes close to the Caliber 40. Her sleeping quarters are true staterooms, expansive and private. Instead of a cramped V-berth, there's a full forward master cabin with a generous offset double with ample storage space and drawers below; shelf and book rack over berth; and two-door large cedar-lined hanging locker and one-door locker with shelf storage. The hull sides have solid teak battens. The owners have modified some of the storage space for even more storage capacity.
The forward master cabin features a private, spacious head with its own separate shower that's enclosed by a Plexiglas door. The forward head counter tops are finished in Corian “Sahara”. Together, the forward cabin and head offer luxurious livability for extended stays.
The main salon is well illuminated and richly furnished in teak. It takes full advantage of the headroom and a wide beam. The result is a "living room" that's perfect for entertaining guests. Two settees offer ample seating and one of them even converts into a double berth (for a total of 7 berths). Both settees have storage under and behind, and teak cabinets over. The twin-leaf dining table folds up against the bulkhead for additional space. There is a custom fold away work bench mounted on the starboard side of the main salon.
The aft stateroom has a double berth with a storage cabinet beneath, and a large cedar lined hanging wardrobe. There is a separate entry door from the stateroom to the aft head, giving more privacy to your guests.
The aft head is located conveniently to the cockpit. It's entrances from the aft cabin, and the salon make it accessible from either area without disturbing the other occupants. The both heads are completely outfitted with pressurized hot/cold water and shower.
The nav. station is port, aft of galley featuring chart table with hinged lid, with storage underneath and above; chart light; electronics cabinet; breaker panel; DC plug, nav. seat with storage under and above. There is an additional DC panel for extra equipment.
Any cook would appreciate this large and efficient L-shaped galley. The galley is directly aft of the salon and has plenty of counter space for food preparation, including an extension leaf when more space is required, storage cabinets for food, dishes, pots and pans, and a set of custom enlarged drawers for cutlery and other galley implements. The owners have customized the galley increasing the draw sizes and added an overhead storage area. The overhead holds a full set of dishes and glasses securely even in rough seas.
Caliber's trademark* design incorporates a Multi-Bulkhead Bonding System*, an Integral Strength-Grid System* for strength and safety, integral baffled tanks act as double bottoms while adding tremendous rigidity to the hull structure, with additional strength from the integral sub-sole. Additionally, there is a Water-Tight Collision Bulkhead*.
Hulls are built for outstanding resistance to collisions, with extra layers of solid fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a Watertight Collision Bulkhead and Rudder Dam are designed to minimize flooding.
When rough water makes most sailors miserable, a Caliber owner can cruise in comfort. And with confidence. The Caliber moves more steadily in heavy seas. And due to her high ballast-to-displacement ratio, the Caliber is very stable.
A swim ladder and boarding platform built into the transom make it easy to board a dinghy or take a swim. The platform has its own hand-held shower.
Vivacia’s plotter, autopilot, and engine control lever are arranged on the wheel steering binnacle. The wind, depth, speed instruments are conveniently mounted over the companionway hatch so all crew members can easily view them.
Vivacia’s Caliber Smart Stern Rail has two seats, an outboard lift crane, outboard bracket mount, cantilever bimini support system with articulated solar panels installed. In addition Vivacia has Calibers Safety Sea Rails for bow and stern.
Note – Vivacia was built with an integral ground plane factory installed and a back stay antenna to allow the fitment of an HF transceiver
