WANDERER'S REST is a beautiful example of the Krogen 48' North Sea, lovingly and expertly maintained by her original owners with the help of top-notch service professionals. The owners' service and maintenance logs are second to none.
Her popular widebody configuration adds to the liveability and spaciousness, and she is very well equipped for extended periods cruising both coastal and open blue waters. Her owners have lived aboard nine months per year for nearly nine years, cruising the entire east coast and the Bahamas.
With her traditional styling and timeless interior design WANDERER'S REST will not only delight her owners and their guests, but will maintain her value for years to come. Krogens have historically returned a significant portion of owners' capital.
While her owners have made the decision to move ashore and on to their next adventure, they have maintained their dedication to WANDERER'S REST as evidenced by her fresh bottom paint and varnish, newly waxed hull and all routine maintenance / service is up-to-date. She could not be any more ready-to-go, and her condition is exceptional.
Showings are by appointment only, and well worth your time. Be prepared to be impressed.
Solid fiberglass below the waterline with aramid fiber-reinforced stem and stern bottom areas and blister resistant vinylester resins used in the outer laminates. Above the waterline a combination of Knytex and fiberglass with closed cell PVC sandwich core for added resiliency, as well as improved sound and thermal insulation. The superstructure includes Knytex combined with end-grained balsa and surface mats (to reduce print-through). Cook gel coat is used on all exterior surfaces. Teak aft and side decks are chemically bonded with no screw fittings. Boat deck and fore deck are finished with GripTex non-skid. All windows and portholes are covered with a UV film to lessen sun’s damaging UV rays on interior teak and fabric. Double aluminum weather–tight doors and windows, with screens on all openings, create a light, airy and bug free environment throughout the vessel.
WANDERER’S REST is the popular widebody model with an Ultra Leather covered L-shaped settee, with extensive storage under the settee. With Director’s chairs and the folding teak hi/low dining table, there is room for up to 8 for dining. Two (2) Ekornes stressless recliners, a 25” LG LCD TV (NEW 2/13) which can access DIRECTV and local TV channels, a Bose home entertainment system with surround sound, 4 mounted Holt Kolter light fixtures, and a fully carpeted sole give you all the comforts of home. The entertaining area just forward of the saloon is outfitted with a buffet bar with extensive rollout drawer storage, an 18 bottle wine cooler (2/15), and a large bookcase. The large screened weather tight doors and 3 large screened opening windows make the room bright and fresh. The Hunter Douglas silhouette blinds provide absolute privacy at night.
Entertaining can be moved to the fully covered aft deck with 4 cushioned Polywood captain chairs and a 36” round table.
One of the great features of a Krogen 48 is the open-faced galley equipped with Force 10 propane range, GE 18 cu ft. stainless steel refrigerator with top freezer, and a convection microwave oven. The counter tops are polished Corian. There is a very generous pantry with custom cabinetry, including additional drawers for pots, pans and dishes. A stainless sink and fixtures, filtered fresh water system (SeaGull), cabinets with locking latches, and a screened window to provide light and natural ventilation complete the galley.

The master stateroom is located forward. It features a center-line island queen berth with a pillow-top mattress, 3 hanging lockers, mirrored vanity, generous drawer and locker storage, 4 screened opening ports and 2 screened overhead hatches. The queen berth comes with a pneumatic lift for easy access to the extensive storage space below the berth. The stateroom also contains a 19” LCD Toshiba TV which can access both Direct TV and local TV channels. Having the master stateroom forward offers abundant ventilation for those peaceful nights at anchor or on a mooring and quiet rest with no hard chines or spray rails for waves to slap. There is an en-suite head with VacuFlush fresh water toilet, 2 screened opening portholes, a large stall shower, and extensive storage. All the wood finishes and ceiling ribs are teak.

Wanderer’s Rest’s guest stateroom is located aft of the master stateroom on the starboard side, with 3 screened opening portholes, and was completely reconfigured in 2011 with a matching teak fore and aft upper berth complementing a lower athwart berth, providing comfortable sleeping areas with a lot more livable space. There is generous drawer storage, a hanging locker and bookcase. The stateroom also includes a desk with 2 file drawers so that it can be used as an office, if so desired.

The guest / day head is located opposite the stateroom and includes 2 screened opening portholes, a stall shower with molded seat, sink and fresh water Vacuflush toilet. This head also includes, completely hidden behind the door, a Bosch washer and vented dryer behind their own teak louvered doors.
The pilothouse on the Krogen 48 is large enough to constitute an entire separate living space. The Ultra Leather covered settee converts to a double berth for guests or a generous watch-berth on overnight passages. It also provides comfortable seating for meals at the hi-lo teak table. There also is a 15” Toshiba LCD TV in the pilothouse, which doubles as a screen for a rearview camera and engine room camera when underway. The STIDD "Admiral" helm chair provides comfort for extended hours at the wheel. The large North Sea angled windows provide great visibility, while the screened “Dutch” aluminum weather-tight doors, screened overhead hatches, screened side windows, and two screened aft portholes provide excellent ventilation. Add to all this the Bose entertainment system speakers, the Weems & Plath clock and barometer, the truly unequalled ride of a Kadey-Krogen, and the pilothouse becomes you and your guests favorite room on the boat!
