Accommodations and Comments
Sea Fever is a very special boat. She was delivered new to the first and only owner in 2011. The boat has a long list of features and upgrades - many of which were not done until 2012.
Tim Jackett did a outstanding job in the design of this performance cruiser. Sea Fever is a fast and beautiful sailing vessel that stands out from the crowd.
Featuring a generous 12' 7" beam, and Amish crafted, varnished cherry interior the boat offers a roomy well thought out layout that has two private staterooms. The forward cabin has room for two with both hanging locker and drawer storage. Hull sides are finished with varnished cherry slats and the cabin floor is teak and holly. There is also a louvered, hinged panel that can be opened giving the cabin a nice open feeling. Moving aft, the main salon has a beautiful bi-fold centerline table that has built-in storage and room for the whole crew. There is a straight settee on the portside and a u-shaped settee on the starboard. The comfortable seating is done in beige UltraLeather which is the ideal fabric for boats. Moving aft on the portside is the forward facing navigation station with a very comfortable wide seat. This area features a large hinged chart table with storage, additional drawer storage plus easy access to the electrical panels and electronics panel. Behind the navigation station is a the head that features a large separate shower with a folding acrylic door and a generous L-shaped seat. In addition there is ample ventilation and storage. On the starboard side is the gourmet galley that has a Granitcote countertops with sea-rails. The comfortable aft stateroom has room for two plus several lockers and three portlights.
The 3700 CCR features a tapered carbon fiber rig that has a double headstay for many sail options. The generous cockpit has ample room for the captain and crew, plus the decks are very easy to move around.

Walking down the dock, the 3700 CCR's rig stands out from the crowd. A carbon fiber engineering showpiece, the lofty tapered rig sports an integrally molded, strong and lightweight masthead and crane. Her double spreader rig is stronger, stiffer, and lighter than an aluminum mast. This results in an increased righting moment, greater sail carrying ability and vastly improved sailing performance. Picture having four 200 lb. crew members on the weather rail in all conditions, the good news is you get their benefit without having to feed them or house them aboard. Stronger and stiffer mean safer and faster, because carbon can be tailored to meet the changing load requirements in a mast, extra material can be added where it is needed most, this results in a mast that can be engineered with higher safety margins. A stiff rig remains in tune through changing conditions and results in all of the energy of the sails being directly transformed into the energy that drives the boat. A yachts rig is the engine that powers the boat, carbon fiber delivers maximum performance, while increasing safety and strength.Tartan developed its "Pocket Boom" on its award winning Tartan 3400. This unique feature provides the ability to fit an easy to manage, uncompromised performance mainsail. Unlike furling masts or booms, the "Pocket Boom" mainsail is cut with full roach, full battens and optimized draft. Sailmakers are able to design sails for performance rather than meeting the constraints of the mast or boom. The "Pocket Boom" is fit with an always-in place sail cover, unzip it and raise the sail from its contained "pocket". When dropping the main, it falls into the boom and lazy jack enclosure, no muss, no fuss. Zip the sail cover back over the sail and the 3700 CCR is shipshape. With Tartan's "Pocket Boom", performance cruising is not compromised by convenience, instead it is enhanced.Upwind the 3700 CCR is fit with a roller furling, self-tacking jib. The cut is a high aspect ratio upwind blade with a long luff and tight sheeting angles. We increased the SA/Disp ratio to maintain light air performance, and the high stability of the 3700 CCR allows the boat to carry full sail when others are reefing. Tacking is as simple as putting the helm over, the jib and mainsail tack themselves. Short tacking out of a harbor or anchorage is done with little effort. When its time to ease the sheets, set the 3700 CCR's 150 percent furling masthead reacher. This sail can be used close reaching in lighter winds, broad reaching in heavier conditions and dead downwind, wing and wing with the mainsail. Tartan's pursuit of the perfect performance cruiser will keep you sailing while others have no choice but to start their engine.
The galley is well located on the starboard side with easy access to the cockpit or the salon. It has a deep polished stainless steel double sink with a single lever faucet. The refrigerated box is lighted and has both top and front access.

Electrical and Mechanical
The heart of Sea Fever's mechanical systems is the very dependable Volvo Penta diesel (only 334 hours). The engine is located in a lead/foam lined engine compartment with great access from the front and back. The engine is coupled to a Volvo Penta Saildrive unit which has a three blade folding prop.

Hull and Deck
Sea Fever has a beautiful dark blue hull with a double white boot stripe and a gold cove stripe. The boat has full dark blue canvas which includes a dodger and free-standing bimini with a connecter panel. The boat also has full enclosures with screens, all the canvas was new in 2012. Another feature that really sets this boat apart is the teak cockpit package (coamings and cockpit sole). All the teak is finished with Epifans and looks great.

Sails and Rigging
The mainsail, jib and genoa's first season of use was 2011. These three Doyle sails are in excellent condition and have many more season's of use left. There is also a very lightly used 2013 Doyle cruising spinnaker.
This popular Tartan features the CCR (Cruise Control Rig) package. The double spreader carbon fiber mast is much stronger, stiffer and lighter than a comparable aluminum mast. This results in an increased righting moment, greater sail carrying ability and vastly improved sailing performance. Both headsails are on furling drums, the aft furler has the self-tacking jib and the forward furler handles the genoa. Tartan also added a "Pocket Boom" to handle the mainsail.
In 2014 the owner was not pleased with all the features and performance of the "Pocket Boom" so he went to a more traditional Offshore Spars boom with a Doyle Stackpack, which has worked perfectly. The "Pocket Boom" is included and can be re-installed without much effort (nothing was changed on the mainsail or the mast).
The mainsail system features a Doyle Stackpack with Lazy Jacks and is raised with a Harken electric self-tailing winch.
