- HULL AND DECK EQUIPMENT
The hull is heavily constructed throughout with a six-inch single length Oregon Pine keel capped with hardwood; also, hardwood stem, horn timber, all floor timbers, etc. The frame is of steam bent oak 2 x 2 ½ “ spaced eleven-inch centers and the planking of 1 ½” Port Orford White Cedar. Double thickness watertight bulkheads have been built into the hull at the points designated on the drawing and also between the crew’s quarters and galley with watertight door. These watertight bulkheads, all main partitions are erected first on the keel, all fore and aft stringers mortise tight therein and an extra heavy steam bent oak frame placed directly around the outer edge of such bulkheads and partitions, thus when the frames, stringers, bulkheads and partitions are thoroughly bolted together, the boat is tied securely at these important points.
The engine frame and fore and aft bedplates are all of teak. The transom is framed with oak with reinforcing members moulded to fit within the outer rim. The outer rim is of heavy teak log rabbitted to take the teak planking on the stern. All deck beams forward rest upon a heavy apron moulded to fit tight against all frames and all bays are blocked in solid under the covering board.

Complete overhaul and refit completed by two ownership groups starting in 2013. Ownership group #1 acquired the vessel in 2013. She was hauled at Keehi marine. All systems were stripped including electrical, tanks, plumbing and mechanical. All fittings were removed including cleats, portholes, instruments etc. The group repaired the hull replacing planks as needed, a majority of the fasteners, re-caulked all planks and applied new bottom and topside paint. The current group acquired the vessel while still in dry dock and completed a full renovation in 2016 and 2017. The renovation included securing and replacing all bronze thru holes and valves, purchase and installation of new engine and gear box, generator, new plumbing, new tanks for water, fuel and waste, electrical wiring, engine room wiring and batteries, new floorboard, trim inner hull, complete new galley, exterior stripping and coating, new fire suppression system, reconditioned all bright work, installed hatches and portholes and new furnishings.
