This classic Eddy and Duff, Stone Horse 23, is one of the best pocket cruisers out there. She looks beautiful and sails well in a breeze. Very dry and sea worthy ship because of its raised flush deck which also allows it to have a deceivingly amount of room below. This boat was built in 1973 and has been well taken care of. Spars are in great shape for age, always stored indoors. Sails in fair shape, tanninbark red with a white yankee jib. Portapotty under salon seat. Ice box, small sink, 5 gallon water tank, v berth to sleep two people up front boom tent. Has complete set of running rigging.
-bottom tuned up and 3 new coats of bottom paint
Equipment: The most striking feature of the Stone Horse 23 is her raised, flush foredeck that was masterfully drawn by Crocker to blend into the cockpit without a hint of excess freeboard. Although only 23 feet on deck, the overall length of the Stone Horse is extended to 28' 3" with the addition of a bowsprit and boomkin which helps balance the profile appearance. The hull is a full keel with traditional wine glass sections and a transom-hung rudder.
For all of its conservative and traditional appearance, Edey and Duff chose to build their Stone Horse utilizing less conservative fiberglass composite method with Airex PVC foam core for both the hull and deck, and solid fiberglass for interior liners. The deck and hull are joined on an inward hull flange.
