FOREVER BOAT is a Robert Perry designed and Uniflite built cruiser which was voted cruising boat of the decade and set the standards for many past and present cruisers. Two staterooms, a large u-shaped galley, separate head and shower compartments and tons of storage offer the cruiser everything they need. The Valiant 40 is known for its excellent seakeeping and sailing characteristics and valued for its traditional looks.
Ready to cross an ocean in comfort and safety and suitable for a comfortable live-a-board, this premium yacht has a host of excellent additions and options and has seen excellent professional care.
This Robert Perry design was introduced into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame in 1997. The Valiant 40 has won more single, and double handed trans-ocean races, than any other sailing yacht.

Hull and deck construction
- Built for Valiant Yachts by Uniflite Corporation in the early '80's, this boat shows the typical non-structural blistering phenomenon characteristic of these boats, however "FOREVER BOAT" is less affected than most.
- Uniflite Corp. built the first 159 VALIANT 40s from 1975 to 1984. During this period, (between hull numbers 120 and 249) resin mixtures were changed to include a special, fire-retardant additive. (At the time, this was a requirement for boats they were building for the military.)
This was thought to have caused the blistering that later appeared on the specified hulls, resulting in a class action law suit. Uniflite went out of business in 1984. - Despite the blistering that appeared on some of the early boats, the VALIANT 40 is one of the most highly thought of designs of this type and extremely successful, with more than 200 built.
- Blister repair was completed and new bottom paint applied in 2017
