This is a boat with the Rob Humphreys Sovereign hull, hand built at Port Falmouth Boat Yard.
This is a truly classic yacht offering strength and elegance. She is not a production line yacht but was built by Port Falmouth Boat Yard to a Rob Humphreys design, one of only seven produced. She is GRP with Kevlar reinforcement.
Souveraine sails well, easily averaging 6 to 7 knots and her hull shape and elliptical lead fin keel makes her a safe and comfortable boat even in rough seas. The cockpit is deep offering protection and comfort for crew. She has a fully battened main with stack pack and lazy jacks and a furling genoa. There is a self launching mechanism for the anchor and an electric windlass.
Down below she offers attractive and comfortable accommodation with real wood finish. There are a total of 8 berths and two heads compartments and a well equipped galley.
When the present owners bought her in 2001 she was fully overhauled and checked. They have continued to maintain her and she is currently out of the water for routine servicing. The teak deck has been cleaned and recaulked where required and the sails have been cleaned and repaired. The engine and fuel system has been serviced along with the gearbox drive-shaft seal. The engine has been winterised. The propeller has been checked and polished. Valves have been checked and the rudder gland checked and repacked with grease. The hull has been cleaned and, below the water line, primed ready for anti foul.
The saloon provides a comfortable space for relaxing and dining with a large table with drop down leaves. The saloon and aft cabins are heated by a diesel fired Mikuni heater.
There is a double berth in the forecabin, with heads adjacent and two further double cabins aft, with a second heads. Two single berths can be created in the saloon. The galley and heads have pressurised cold and hot water with a calorifier. Both heads have a shower facility.
The galley offers a Taylor's gas cooker with twin hobs, oven and grill, two stainless steel sinks and a fridge. There is ample storage attractively presented. There is pressurised hot and cold water and also a salt water tap.
The galley area has a good work surface area and inset lighting. Crockery and cutlery for six is provided.
