The salon features a L-shaped settee on the port side that slides out to form a double berth, across from a straight settee on the starboard side which both make an excellent sea berths. Further aft on the starboard side is a forward facing nav station followed by a large pantry with pullout drawers to access all of your stores. Opposite the nav station is the U-shaped galley which has a deep double stainless steel sink, a 4 burner gimbaled stove and oven, along with a large fridge and freezer. You will find storage abounds throughout this vessel and the galley is no different. Aft of the galley is the aft stateroom with a double berth and cedar lined hanging locker. Starboard you will find the aft head with separate shower stall and access to the engine room (which provides excellent access to the engine and other systems). The companion way lifts up to provide additional access to the engine and a custom manifold system.
The Valiant 50 comes standard with a hardtop for the dodger which covers the companionway area.
Interior - Bulkheads - Solid joiner trim finished with hand rubbed oil finish. - Trim - Sea rails and fiddles on all horizontal surfaces, laminated trim pieces on all arch door frames and bulkhead caps. - Hull Sideliner - Horizontal ash ceiling battens screwed and plugged with varnish finish. - Cabin Sole - Planked and plugged 1-2" solid teak with inlayed poplar strips finish sanded and sealer applied. Sole liftouts with mechanical locking devices. - Cabin Sides - Handrails on cabin truck sides, with Formica side liner. - Lockers - Isolated front bilge with vents for maximum air circulation. - Twist Latches - Flush mounted on all opening locker doors and drawers. - Drawers - Mounted on epoxy coated drawer slides. - Dining Table - Walk around drop leaf table with Formica top leaves and center storage, with fiddles. - Settees - Opposing settees port & starboard. Storage lockers aft above port and starboard settee. - Pantry Locker - Four locking sliding track shelves. - Overhead Liner - 1-8" Formica drop down panels for easy access to underside of deck. - Chain Locker - Interior access with drain to bilge.
The Valiant classic U shaped galley to port is considered one of the best galleys on any boat. The galley wraps around with the sink centerline at the bulkhead with storage below and a big cabinet above. There is deep storage outboard of the sinks. The ample counters are upgraded to Corian. On the port side, the stove upgraded to a Force 10 stove with oven, and built in dish storage and storage behind it. The refrigerator and freezer are forward with a custom big beautiful cabinet above for more storage. The counter space continues with the trash bin and drawers below. And, most importantly, the amazing Valiant pantry with its slide out shelves is just behind the nav station completing the galley.

S/V Valkyrie has an electrical system designed for cruising. Systems are primarily run on 12v, but there is backup from an independent 110v generator. Solar panelsprovide charging in most conditions, supplying power for her 12v refrigeration. The addition of new AGM batteries has made her DC side extremely reliable. When additional power is needed, the generator is available.
Fresh Water Tanks Marine Stainless - Located under settees port and starboard with cleanouts, deck fills and vents. Custom built and removable. - Water tank sight gauges. - Water Manifold - Located under galley sink for easy access with filter. - Pressure Water - Hot and cold system with 12 volt pump and large accumulator tank. - Water Heater - 110 volt and engine heated. - Foot Pump - Fresh water in galley. - Shower - In head with electric sump pump. - Head - Manually operated with large built-in marine alloy holding tank, with deck pump out or Y-valve system for overboard offshore discharge. Tank is removable. - Bilge Pumps - Manual pump located in cockpit and electric 12 volt pump with automatic bilge float switch. - Faucets - Galley hot - cold swivel spout. Vanity hot - cold faucet, shower hot - cold controls & shower wand.
Gelcoat - Isophthalic gelcoat used exclusively on all large and small fiberglass parts. - Resin - Isophthalic resin used throughout the entire lay up of hull, deck, and all components. The resin is hand batched and catalyzed in one gallon increments. The catalyst - resin mixture is dyed to achieve proper wet out technique. - Hull - One piece solid fiberglass, hand laminated of alternate layers of mat and woven roving. - Deck - Hand laminated balsa cored fiberglass for strength weight ratio w-high density structural foam in high stressed areas. - Rub Rail - Molded in structural with sacrificial teak & stainless strake. - Skeg - Rudder - Fiberglass hand laminated structural parts, stainless steel solid shaft, w-internal steel core, encased in resin and foam. - Keel - External mounted lead ballast, bedded with 3M 5200 sealant. Through bolted with 18 - 3-4" stainless steel J-bolts incorporating stainless steel backing plates. - Deck to Hull - Mechanically joined with through bolts and bedded with 3M 5200 sealant. - Floor Timbers - Engine Beds - Fiberglass laminated over high density structural foam, sealed and finished with isophthalic gel coat. - Bulkheads - Bonded with fiberglass to hull and deck with tie plates to floor structures. - Furniture - All horizontal and vertical flats fiberglass bonded to hull and deck. - Chainplates - Stainless steel with backing plates through bolted to solid fiberglass structural knees. - Hull Insulation - 1-2" closed cell foam from the waterline to the sheer on inside of hull to prevent condensation and provide sound insulation. - Engine Room Insulation - 1" Sound Stop lined foam throughout to provide sound insulation. - Top Sides - Finished with Imron polyurethane white hull with contrasting whale and double boot for superior finish, mar resistance and color retention. - Underbody - Barrier coating applied below the waterline, then marine antifouling bottom paint is applied.
