The prototype of a new line of Hunt Yachts was launched in the summer of 2001 - the Hunt 36 Harrier - using a name that Ray Hunt used on his special race winning Concordia sailboats. The first production Harrier 36 will debut at the Palm Beach Boat Show in March, 2002. The 36 Harrier is built for Hunt Yachts by Carroll Marine of Bristol, RI - a builder of advanced high-tech Grand Prix level ocean racing sailboats. All Harriers are built with vacuum-bagged epoxy resin saturated fabrics including fiberglass hybrids, Kevlar and / or carbon fiber as required, to achieve high strength with minimum weight. All structure is foam cored. Hulls are AwlGrip painted. All Harriers will be twin diesel powered and capable of 40 knots or more. Supercavitating propellers in shallow tunnels are standard for simplicity and reliability. Waterjets are an option. Styling is contemporary with a classic yachting flavor and the function needed at sea is not forgotten. Interiors are spacious, clean and sophisticated with rich appointments and detail.
