Island Packet 465 for sale in Grenada! Island Packets have been highly regarded for building strong, seaworthy sailboats that are tuned to the cruising sailor's needs, with first-rate systems and enough storage space to keep a cruising family comfortable for months at a time.

Ailsa of Northwick is a cutter rig, long keeled monohull with centre cockpit launched in 2008. She has done 13000 sea miles with a single careful owner and comes with bowthruster, generator, water maker, powered winches, SSB, Sailor Fleet Boadband satellite, AB rigid tender and OB, Raymarine electronics, solar panels, wind turbine and a new suite of sails. She will suit a couple or family who are looking for a comfortable and safe yacht and have ambitions to extend their sailing horizons offshore.

The owners of Ailsa purchased her new at a UK boatshow in 2009. They bought her as a well-constructed solid sailboat that would look after them, and she has through thick and thin. They look forward to passing her on to new owners who will appreciate her quality and give her the same care that they have. They crossed the Bay of Biscay five times and crossed the Atlantic in 2012 when despite being one of the windiest crossings, Ailsa coped well with her two headsails as a downwind rig. They have kitted Ailsa out for bluewater sailing. She has sufficient solar and wind to keep the freezer running and the flow of ice cubes. During the recent lockdown her owners have been self-sufficient with freshwater and the capacity of the diesel tank could keep them going. Ailsa  has SSB and a Sailor 150 Fleet Broadband satellite communication system. For offshore safety, there is a high spec life raft, an ACR Globalfix Pro406 Mhz EPIRB and a Raymarine Life Tag MOB system. The battery bank (6x 100 amps) has been replaced in the last 2 years. There is a BEP battery monitor, acor fuel filter water separator alarm and Seafire automatic fire suppression in the engine compartment. There are Caframo fans throughout. The dinghy was replaced in 2017 albeit the Honda 15hp outboard is 11 years old. All in all, she is a well presented, cared for, solid, safe and comfortable yacht well kitted out for blue water cruising.
