Horizon Yachts Grenada
Shannon 28 for sale in Grenada. Designed by Walter Schulz the Shannon 28 is regarded as one of the highest quality production 28 footers to come from America. The boat can accommodate a cruising family, serve as a liveaboard for two and perfect for a solo sailor such as the current owner. She is also built to withstand some serious offshore sailing!
Viator was built in 1983 and is priced to sell as the owner is ready to see her go to another sailor who will appreciate and enjoy this classic yacht for many years to come.
She has had only two owners, both of who have taken great care of her, so she has been well-loved over the years. The present owner purchased her in 1996 in the Great Lakes and sailed her down to the islands in 1998. Since then, she has sailed between Trinidad and the Grenadines for 6 months every year and then safely stored in a boatyard for the rest of the year.
This yacht is easy to handle having been sailed by her solo owner, and she has been maintained as required. She was last hauled out six months ago and had her bottom painted as well as other regular maintenance jobs. She has a new starter motor and the wind generator is working well.
The current owner has decided to donate the sales proceeds to local charities in Grenada - including the sailing association teaching local children how to sail. Horizon have agreed that no commission will be charged on this sale to maximise the return to local charities.
She is worth a look if you are looking for a small but perfectly formed, bargain-priced pocket cruiser!
