RARE West Coast Offering -- 2-Cabin Legacy 42 Motor Yacht in beautiful condition.
The Freedom built Legacy 42 (now owned by Tartan) has a superior quality defined by its proven hull shape, advanced marine composites, all packaged as an elegantly appointed traditional yacht with luxurious accommodating interior spaces.
SIROCCO spent most of her life in the Chesapeake Bay gunk holing harbor to harbor, until her current owners had her shipped here to the West Coast. The current owners are moving abroad, and are reluctantly letting her go to her next custodians who appreciate quality above all else.
Please call Sean White for an exclusive showing of this outstanding Legacy 42.
Designed by Mark Ellis, the Freedom Legacy 42 mixes traditional lines of a Downeast Trawler with modern construction. Designed for efficiency and cruising comfort.
A modern hull design with deep-V bow and chine stern help the hull glide through open sea conditions with ease.
This Legacy 42 Sedan has the galley-up layout to maximize living space in the 360 degree views. Stepping down below, there is forward centerline berth owner’s cabin, a guest cabin to starboard, and added galley space and a head to port. SIROCCO is meticulously cared for by very experienced yacht owners who had her shipped from the east coast to Oceanside Harbor. The previous owners cruised locally on the Chesapeake Bay.
The Legacy 42 Sedan features a spacious main salon designed with visibility and comfort in mind.
360-degree views surround you when you walk through the sliding aft entryway or the starboard helm door, with a sweeping helm windshield forward, large side windows stretching the length of the upper bridge deck, and glass stern windows for unobstructed views aft.
The salon features a settee to starboard and two barrel chairs to port with an entertainment storage cabinet between them. A folding dining table can stretch across the salon to create a comfortable dining area for four.
Master Cabin Forward:
The forward Master Cabin features a walk-around centerline queen bed surrounded by beautiful cherry joinery and storage. Additional pull-out drawers below the berth offer more storage along with two hanging lockers. A large overhead opening hatch and two side ports provide fantastic light and ventilation. Overhead lighting and two personal reading lights provide additional lighting. Private access door to the head.
Guest Cabin Starboard:
The Guest Cabin is located amidships below the helm and features a comfortable bed that slides across to extend sleeping area. The double-opening cabin pocket door makes this cabin quite spacious and bright with an overhead opening hatch and two opening chrome side ports. Cherry storage cabinets and a hanging locker are recessed into the forward bulkhead.
The Legacy 42 helm is located to starboard, and features a comfortable adjustable Captain’s chair in front of the cherry wheel and navigation displays located on a wide helm dashboard. A sliding access door adjacent to the wheel provides the Captain easy access to the midships side deck, while underway and docking.
Powered by a fuel efficient single 660hp Cummins QSM-11 Common Rail Diesel that has been well maintained. With 975 engine hours, her previous owners have already had the1000-hour service performed with Cummins Authorized Techs.
With an efficient Deep-Vee Bow and Chine stern, the Cummins Diesel can easily help SIROCCO glide at 20 knots. Running gear is fully protected with a full keel. The engine room is easily accessible from the opening overhead hatch, and also provides easy access to the engine and Onan 6kw Generator.
SIROCCO has a 6kw Onan generator with 250 hours for keeping the 34,000 BTU air conditioning and heat running when away from the dock, and on the hook. The Generator, 100 amp battery charger and 2,500 watt inverter help keep all of the various 12v and 120v outlets throughout the yacht powered up at all times.
The hull and deck are infused with vinylester resign that is blister resistant with stout longitudinal and transverse stringers made of high-density structural foam encased in biaxial knitted fiberblass.
The hull is cored with Corecell foam, and the deck is cored with end grain balsa grids. This makes for a solid and lighter vessel that is quiet and more fuel efficient than a hand laid yacht.
