Momentum is beautifully appointed Pacific 40 that was built by the current owner in conjunction with Pacific Multihulls who have spent years developing the latest advanced materials and technology to produce this kit-form catamaran.
The catamaranis brand new with the mask and standing rigging only a couple of weeks old and the main sail and the genoa a week old, so if you’re looking for a new catamaran this is an excellent opportunity to obtain outstanding value for money.
First launched in December 2020 after an eight-year build process, Momentum features a preglassed poly core and a wine-glass shaped hull that allows you to achieve excellent performance. She has a cruising waterline length-to-beam ratio of 1/ 12 while retaining generous internal volume.
The catamaran’s bows have sharp plum stems to provide excellent wave-cutting ability with less spray and drag when pressing hard. The decks are made into one large uninterrupted flat panel, including the catwalk, front beam, side decks and rear cabin tops.
The boat’s cockpit has been arranged to be simple and functional and the cockpit seat has been designed straight for easy storage and plenty of space to walk around. The seatback is carried across to the transom steps providing an excellent place to grind the shared mainsheet track/spinnaker winch while watching the sails.
Momentum’s saloon is large, light and airy, and is divided up into a lounge /dining area, a galley-up kitchen and navigation station. This centralises all the daytime activity and ensures privacy and tranquillity for the sleeping quarters down below. Drop-down windows and double door in the mail bulkhead allow plenty of ventilation and a sense that the saloon and cockpit comprise one single, large area.
The Pacific 40 has been designed with performance cruising in mind. An advantage of this catamaran is that the weight is kept in check resulting in a very light boat giving sparkling performance and good carrying ability. With its high aspect main and genoa, this cat will reward you with exceptional performance if you like to race lightly loaded.
